I have been working and volunteering with kids from infancy to about 10 years old since I was young. Most of my experience has come from the last 5 years but there is definitely more experience than just those 5 years. When I was young, I babysat a little boy under 1 year old. I did that for about a year. In this time, I had also begun working with people with autism and other disabilities at my church. I met a boy with autism and I was with him for about a year and a half. Then I began working with various different children with many other disabilities, ranging from autism, to ADHD to down syndrome and more. I started volunteering with a little boy who is 8 years old and has downsyndrome. I was with him for approximately 2 years and my work with him continues inconsistently today. Read more Though I am still in contact with him and his family. I was soon employed under UCP with an adult woman with down syndrome and I have been working with her consistently since February 2024. This past school year, I have also been interning at the Vista school for people with autism for an hour and a half or more a day during the week. I absolutely love working with people. Since I was young, I knew that it was my calling to be some sort of caretaker. I am currently a premed student, going into Pennstate to pursue a psychology degree and eventually become a doctor in psychiatry. Although I do not have CPR or First aid certification, I am more than happy to get that if requested by a family.
