Loving Experienced Mom/Babysitter/Tutor/Date-Night Sitter. I am a young-at- heart, down-to-earth, and fairly energetic Mom and part-time professional currently looking for approximately 12 hours per week (Ideally late afternoon/evening) within 5 miles of Kensington. I'm available for date nights as well. I live in Kensington near Strathmore Hall/White Flint with my husband. The most fun we ever had was raising our wonderful 28 year old son, being very involved in his private Montessori school community, and often hosting a house full of boys. For the last 30 years, I have worked for a non-profit research company in Calverton MD as a traffic safety researcher/program manager. I have been providing child care via SitterCity for the last 7 years. My recent experience has been weekend and evening babysitting for six different families with toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary age children. I usually bring a craft activity or game and/or new library books to Read more keep children engaged (and off screens) and entertained. I am experienced with helping children who are non-standard learners. I can definitely assist with projects and homework although my math skills are somewhat limited. I am also happy to take children on fun and educational outings and to parks. I enjoy doing craft projects with children and regular visits to the library to explore new books. I have completed three Red Cross Training Certifications: Pediatric First Aid/CPR in December 2016; Advanced Child Care Training with Pediatric First Aid/CPR in March 2019, and the Adult/Pediatric First Aid/CPR in September 2022. I have a perfect driving record that I can provide. I have a 5 star safety rated vehicle (2017 Ford Escape) for transportation needs. I have a good rapport with children of all ages and teens. With safety first in mind, having fun with your children and learning new developmentally appropriate things together are my main goals. I look forward to meeting your children, having fun with them, and nurturing them. I don't mind doing light housekeeping, dishes, simple meal prep and laundry if I can do so while keeping your children safe. I have multiple references, available upon request. Eileen Taylor

Eileen exceeded my expectations in a million ways. I came to the area on business, trying to juggle a full time+ job and a 4 year old. Eileen worked with us for 4 days, including long and unpredictable hours and bringing my son along with me to meetings (and then keeping him quiet and out of my hair). She is a safe driver and was consistently careful about the carseat. She arrived each day with a bag of toys based on my son's interests, immediately figured out how to keep him happy and occupied, and adapted to our chaotic family vibe. She also asked great questions and thought about safety, health, and emergencies, such as requesting our pediatrician's phone number. Without being asked, she also helped support my elderly aunt. When I came back to the apartment after a late meeting, the house was clean, kid happy and in bed. She offered to run to the grocery for me, which was an enormous help. We will absolutely get in touch with her next time we are in town.
