Hi, My name is Laurel, I have a Lifetime Early Childhood and Special Education Certification. I love animals and am very comfortable with pets. I love kids. They bring out my own inner child! I am a retired teacher. I care deeply for kids. I like to get to know their likes, dislikes, and strengths. I like to see them open and experience life thru a positive lenses but at the same time develop their confidence, independence and worthiness to make their own choices in the world today. I also love helping facilitate kids tapping into their own intuition, imagination and curiosity. I like them to experience a balance of playfulness and fun along with accomplishing what they need to. Giving kids choices is very important to me. I love to sing to and with kids. I also love dogs. I have taught kids of all ages but prefer Early Read more Childhood age which is the area of my degree's. I taught preschool at a Montessori school for 4 yrs. and was Assistant director for a year. The rest of my teaching career I taught regular & special ed. in public schools. I have a master's in Education & I am an Autism specialist. I was involved in after school programs and tutored. I've also done in home therapy for kids with Autism and socialized them in the community. I have had experience transporting kids from community to their home. I used to teach CPR a long time ago. I am currently updating through Sittercity. My application says school age but I would consider younger child/ children if it was a good fit. I am relocating to the twin cities area. I am available to start as soon as possible.
