Hi there, my name is Carissa! I recently moved back to Texas, Alongside going to school and working, I have been in childcare on and off for the last 10 years. I have experience working with families with children between newborn (0) and 12 years old. I also worked in a high school within the special education program for a year. In addition to taking care of kids professionally, I grew up in a large family and helped raise my siblings as the oldest sister, and my youngest cousins from infancy to a year old. Talk about surrounded by kiddos. I’m looking for anything from one-time babysitting help, to full-time nanny positions. A fun-fact is that I have a culinary degree and can complete cooking tasks or housework if need-be! I want to see your children meet milestones while having fun, and becoming excited about the world around them. There is no greater joy than to see a child learn something or express themselves! My focus will be to give your children a safe, routine-focused, and creative space while we are together. I love doing seasonal crafts, baking, pretend play, encouraging independent time, and special weekly outings when appropriate. I’m firm but kind, and will work with you on any challenges your children may experience. In my personal time, I love to cook & bake as often as possible, make all different kinds of crafts, go to community events with my wife (who works in special education), or cuddle up and watch a show with my two cats, Claire & Kiki!
