Hello! My name is Kat and I have 17 years of childcare experience as well as two kids of my own. I have worked with various aged children from infants to teens in a child care setting as well as a school setting for a co-op program. I also have past experience as a lifeguard (4 years) and educated in both first aid and CPR. I initially went to college for early childhood education and although I did not end up pursuing a degree and instead pursued a different career path, I’ve absorbed a lot of useful information during my experiences studying. I also have experience working with children that have special needs (specifically autism). I enjoy creating fun activities, learning materials, social stories, reading books, and creating arts and crafts! Although education is extremely important to me I also like to make sure that children have a physical outlet Read more to be expressive as well and enjoy taking nature hikes (age & ability appropriate of course). I also enjoy taking my kids swimming and make sure we have plenty of time to play outside! I believe each child is unique and this means having unique needs, likes and dislikes, and unique interests. I am willing to make sure each child’s dietary needs/preferences are met as well. I am able to take care of two more children in addition to my own two children. I’m able to host the other two children in my house on a daily basis which includes providing various fun activities ( , cook meals for each mealtime in my care (even if there is a special preference/dietary need or picky/plain eater), provide clean up for messes and for the child physically if they become dirty during an activity (diapers and pull-ups are able to be changed as well), I am able to provide help potty training with a child as needed as well too. If a parent has special rules I’m willing to respect and enforce those as needed for their child. I approach any issues or behavior situations by correcting the child and talking through the issue and making sure I take to time relate so they are able to fully understand in a way that resonates with each individual child. I also like to use positive reinforcement often and let each child feel praise for things they do well or acts of kindness. I’m overall willing to work with each child’s uniqueness and understand their individual needs and wants.
