Hi! I’m Alexi! I currently live in West Knoxville and work from home as a freelance graphic designer, but childcare has always been a huge part of my life. After graduating from college, I spent a few years working as a graphic designer and creative marketing manager in Nashville, TN. Although that experience provided me with invaluable skills, I eventually discovered the corporate world wasn't for me. In 2020, I decided to take a leap of faith and move back to Knoxville, TN to start my own remote design business. With a more flexible schedule, I was able to get back into part-time sitting and began providing care for a local family with a newborn little girl. This developed into a long-term relationship where I spent the next five years providing weekly care for her in my own home. From endless crafts to homemade scavenger hunts and "field trips" to Read more local parks, we had so much fun! Now that she’s started school, I’m looking to fill that void by helping families like yours. Experience I grew up as a "sidekick" to my mother, who was the director of multiple daycares and the nursery program at our church. She later became an elementary school teacher, where I had the opportunity to work alongside her as a volunteer for countless hours. This sparked a lifelong love for early childhood education. I started babysitting for relatives and family friends at the age of 14 and have since babysat on a regular basis for numerous amazing families. As you can see, childcare has been the common thread throughout my life. By implementing daily routines such as nap time, bath time, feeding schedules, and bedtime wind-downs, I understand firsthand how much patience, structure, and consistency little ones need to feel safe and thrive. I am very comfortable preparing snacks and meals, packing lunches, and following all dietary restrictions. While sitting, I make it a priority to "pick up as I go" to ensure all play spaces are tidy by the end of the day. Creativity & Play Due to my background in art and my love for all things DIY, creativity is at the heart of everything I do. I enjoy helping children express themselves through age-appropriate learning projects and creative activities, whether that’s building fairy houses, playing dress-up, setting up sensory bins, or simple hands-on art projects that spark curiosity.
