I’m an energetic and outgoing 60 year old mom to two boys, and two grandsons. I am a social worker, and worked as a foster care caseworker for seven years, ultimately honing in on childcare, as it is my true passion. My favorite age groups are newborn through age four, but I have experience with all ages. I have experience with special needs as my son was learning disabled. He was in Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapy. He had an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) from Pre Primary through his senior year of high school and he is ADHD. I’m looking for a full time position, with a minimum of a one-year commitment. My rates start at $16.00 an hour for one child. I have worked for three families, for a total of two years professionally. I have also taken care of my oldest grandson, volunteered in my children’s schools, and Read more was a SAHM. I’m in the process of being recertified in CPR, have my own transportation, and have taken courses in child development. My focus is on giving your child(ren) a safe, routine-focused, and creative space to learn, develop, and grow while following their lead in play. I prefer to teach hands on, and not via screen time. I love singing to, and with all children, and reading, reading, reading! Additionally, I encourage independent time, and special weekly outings when appropriate. I’m firm but gentle and understanding, and will work with you on any challenges your child may come to. In my personal time I love to spend time with my pets, hike, and go out with friends.
