I am responsible, but I know how to create a fun experience and make sure any kid has all the love and respect that they need when in my care. The growing mind of a child deserves the right kind of caretaker to treat them with equal respect no matter what age they are. One of my favorite books, All About Love: New Visions by Bell Hooks, talks about how children deserve to have civil rights just as much as adults, and as caretakers, we should demonstrate loving discipline towards them, which is a core value I uphold. Some of my experience with kids: I have volunteered at La Viña Christian Church of Evanston(in Chicago) in the children's ministry as a child caretaker. I provided assistance every Friday from 7-9 pm. Some responsibilities included supervising children’s safety, and providing snacks and play activities while working through a structured curriculum. The Read more ages I took care of were around 4-11 years old. I also have lots of experience babysitting children ages 2-11!

Melodie sent a thoughtful note in response to our post for a date night sitter. She was responsive and on time. She asked smart questions in advance of meeting our 5 yr old. And she was great with our sometimes shy daughter. Could not have gone better.
