Dear Family, I would love to tell you a little bit about myself and my experience with children. I am originally from Sri Lanka. Before moving to the United States, I worked as a Science and Technology teacher. My love for working with children actually started when I was in college. At that time, I began caring for infants from about 4 months to 12 months old. I really enjoyed spending time with babies and learning how to care for their individual needs. After I finished college, I started working with children between the ages of 2 and 5. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with many different children and families, and I have learned that every child is unique. I really enjoy getting to know each child’s personality, interests, routines, and needs. I also have almost two years of experience working with children with special Read more needs. That experience was very meaningful to me and taught me to be even more patient, understanding, flexible, and attentive to each child. I learned how important it is to give children the time, encouragement, and support they need while making sure they feel comfortable, included, and loved. I recently stepped away from full-time preschool teaching, but my love for working with children has never changed. I would really enjoy continuing to work with children by providing caring, safe, and engaging childcare. I understand how important it is for families to have someone they can trust with their children, and I always try to follow each family’s routines, expectations, and parenting preferences. I am also an artist. Painting is something I really enjoy doing in my free time. I especially enjoy acrylic painting, and I have painted many pieces that I have sold and shared with others. I also enjoy doing creative activities with children, so I would love to include simple art and creative activities when appropriate. Most importantly, I am a caring, patient, dependable, and responsible person. I truly enjoy spending time with children, talking with them, reading with them, playing with them, and helping them learn and grow. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me.
