Hello! My name is Mikayla. I am 28 years old. I’m a mom of two, ages 11 and 8. I have 8+ years experience in child care working as a professional nanny and in childcare centers with children from newborns to 8 year olds, including multiples. Currently I work as a nanny. Prior to nannying, I was a teacher in infant and toddler classrooms at a private childcare center and an assistant teacher for 3 years at a Head Start Preschool. I am currently in the process of earning a degree in early childhood education and am actively taking classes to further my education. I am first aid and CPR certified (infant-adult). I am willing to undergo CORI/background check. I am also fully vaccinated. I have worked all of my years in early childhood education in programs inspired by Reggio Emilia. The Reggio Emilia approach values the belief that children Read more are strong, competent and capable citizens who are full of wonder and curiosity to learn. I have hundreds of hours of training (and certificates) on how to build emerging curriculum and implement child-led/play based learning. This means whatever your child is interested in, it’s my job to help them go the extra mile in being able to explore that interest(s). I am here to work collaboratively with your child(ren) to help them learn and explore the world around them. Additionally I love taking the children out to do activities and see places, doing arts and crafts and being creative, being outside in nature and reading!
