I have grown up being the caregiver. I’m the firstborn (out of 3) from a Texan-latino household, where all adults were working full-time jobs. I am also the oldest of all of my known cousins, the youngest turning 5 this year. I have been the babysitter for up to 10 kids varying from all ages since I was 10 years old, and I loved every second. Not just because they are my family but because I just love learning new things. I loved watching the kids grow into young adults and learn new things not just about themselves but about the world. Despite it sounding like I chore, I tend to volunteer for it. I learn new things from the kiddos every time I’m around them and I get to teach them new things as well. I love turning the rambunctious kids into well-mannered playmates.
