I have been in professional childcare for eight years, and most of that time has been spent working as a nanny. I enjoy working with children, and find it incredibly rewarding. My mission as a nanny/babysitter is to keep the children safe, adhere to the parents' wishes for care, and foster healthy growth and development. I do this by reading to the children/encouraging reading in those old enough, promoting engaging playtime, playing music/singing/dancing, and spending time outside, whether it be going for a walk, or playing in the yard, or going on adventures away from the house. Having grown up in the Durham/Hillsborough area I know all the parks and libraries and love utilizing the resources that surround us! I also like to help language development in infants/toddlers by using adaptive sign language. I also have other experience working with children, mostly as a dance teacher/musical choreographer, but also as Read more crafts director for a summer camp. I am punctual, reliable, calm in emergencies, do not smoke, am CPR and First Aid certified, and have a clean driving record with a reliable vehicle.
