Hello! My name is Kenya (pronounced Kenja) I am 23 years old, and I’m a paraprofessional in a COACH program which works with special needs. I attended Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster Pa. Most of my work experiences have been taking care of and teaching kids. First, I began as an intern in a nonprofit camp over the summer. Which was dedicated to teach lower income kids to not only read over the summer but to fall in love with reading. Then I work in an after school program at a YMCA, where I started as a teacher assistant then later became a teacher. That job required me to help kids with their school work, but also incorporate STEAM related activities into a curriculum in which I had to follow. At the YMCA I worked with all ages, and was trained to deal with all different types of behavior. Read more I am CPR certified and had other child development trainings. But I would like to say most of my training came from my family, as the oldest daughter I took care of both of my sisters growing up and learned to be the caring and thoughtful person I am now. I’m looking for a part time after school hours to earn extra money to continue my higher education.
