I am a retired social worker who previously worked for NYS Office of Children and Families, and for the past six years I have worked as a full-time nanny with the same family. I began caring for their oldest when he was five months old, and the family has since grown to include a 3-year-old, boy, and an 8-month-old, girl. Caring for children has been a part of my life since I was in seventh grade, when I began as a mother's helper. During high school, I spent four as a live-in nanny and throughout my career I have worked with children and young adults of varying ages, abilities, and needs, including both neurotypical children and children with special needs and disabilities. I am looking for a part-time or full-time position with a family who will value my extensive childcare experience, also knowing that parents are the experts on their children, and view their nanny as a trusted partner. I believe in open communication, consistency, kindness and a good sense of humor are all important parts of a successful nanny-family relationship. I am also happy to help with light household responsibilities related to the family, including dishes, children's laundry, meal prep, and keeping the children's area organized.
