Hi there, I’m Leah! I am an adventurous, patient, and creative explorer that would love to be a nurturing addition to your family! I have recently graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies, and have several years of diverse childcare experience. Most recently, I was a private, in home nanny to a spunky one year old! As a full time nanny, I assisted with household chores, sleep training, and important cognitive development activities. Prior to this experience, I spent a summer leading a diverse group of high schoolers who were working on trails with the USFS in Wyoming. I really enjoy working with older kids, but have nearly 4 years of experience in working a variety of environmental education jobs focusing on pre-k through 6th grade learning. While I was getting my degree at NAU, I was a full time nanny for a wonderful family Read more with 2 toddler-aged children. Prior to starting my educational career at NAU, I worked first hand with Phoenix families through the Parks and Recreation Department of Phoenix, as well as taught environmental science to children Pre-K through 6th grade through an AmeriCorps program! I am extremely passionate about getting youth outside and exploring their environment, and specialize in Montessori/ gentle teaching methods. I love seeing how children's minds expand and their curiosity deepens when being in nature. I am a hands-on teacher and guarantee lots of fun, adventurous outdoor time with your kiddos! I look forward to hearing from you, please send me a message if you would like a copy of my complete resume to learn more about my work history.
