Engaging your child’s imagination, nature to explore and learn are some of the qualities I focus on as a caregiver. Knowing that a child’s first 5 years are the cornerstone for her/his life, my focus is on providing secure, loving and strong developmental care. My introduction to education was working for a privately owned Nursery school upon graduating from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC. I was very fortunate that my employer saw potential in combining my theatre background with education. My classes were 2-3 and 4-5 year old. In addition, I often provided child care to my student’s families during school vacations and summer breaks. While teaching, it was a natural step to go on to leading Theatre workshops for all ages. One of my favorite was an improv class for 4th & 5th graders. Their favorite game was building a machine by using their ingenuity to create parts from their voices and bodies. Since moving to the the North Shore, I have worked as a private Nanny, volunteered for Horizons for Homeless Children, and cared for friends' kids on fun-filled play dates while also working in the medical field. This past year has afforded me the experience of being with a family whom a parent worked from home. This provided an opportunity to reconfirm my belief that collaboration and communication are essential to a positive relationship for parent(s) and Nanny. I willingly abide by all CDC recommendations and social distancing, and I have gratefully received my Covid vaccination.
