Hi there! My name is Mallory and I love working with children. Previously, I have nannied, worked in Montessori schools, and received Montessori training. I believe that we as adults have the privilege of assisting children to have the most positive experiences as possible as they move through all of the very crucial developmental stages of growth. Of course, we cannot control every circumstance a child encounters, but we can guide, mentor, teach, lead by example, and love them to the best of our capabilities while also allowing the children to teach us along the way. I very much gravitate towards Maria Montessori’s educational philosophy and outlook on working towards a peaceful world with holistic education as the catalyst. I enjoy spending time outdoors with children as much as possible due to the multitude of learning opportunities that come with nature exploration; from finding a caterpillar on the sidewalk, to Read more going on nature hikes there is much to learn. Observation of the child is something that I take very seriously as to get to know their temperament, and personality as best I can, and therefore cater to their specific needs and honor their individuality. When it comes to discipline, I lean towards learning through natural consequences (within the parents’ expectation and preferences). And of course, a child’s safety is my top priority while they are in my care. With a bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology, I understand the importance of the child’s social/emotional health just as much as their everyday practical needs such as nutritious food, plenty of playtime, and quality sleep. As a nanny, I hope that we can work together as a team in order to create the most fulfilling experiences for the children.
