Meet Nahidia

I am a native of Saint Lucia, who migrated to the US approximately twenty years ago and has made FL my new home. My passion for children became obvious to me when I was around fourteen years old and my journey with children began in the classroom at the age of seventeen. After a few years, I pursued my knowledge about children by attending a teachers college in Saint Lucia. The joy and passion of being with children was heightened when I became a mom to a wonderful son who took me on a long journey of graceful parenting and motherhood. Intriguingly, part of this journey was to find a school that would support my son. Subsequently, I stumbled upon Waldorf Education, where I became curious about its pedagogy, and eventually fell in love with most aspects of Rudolf Steiner’s beliefs on how children learn and grow. As an Early Childhood Specialist, I have developed a passion to use my warmth and gentle approach to care for young children through purposeful activities. Woven into my work with children is also a strong desire to help others feel their best through personalized lifestyle changes that support their wellness journey. Moreover, when I am not steeped into my areas of influence, I whole-heartedly enjoy camping, the outdoors, hiking, traveling and learning about plants. Therefore, it is not by coincident, I revere nature for the way it replicates every aspect of life. I enjoy its vastness - for it confirms all possibilities that life is limitless. Each day is a gift and I express gratitude for it by walking with no shoes for more than ten minutes and stopping to listen to the magnificent and breathtaking surroundings - An activity that helps connect and remind me of my upbringing in Saint Lucia where I delightfully enjoyed playing outdoors with my friends or alone. I have worked in Reggio inspired schools and an outdoor school as well. My love for nature education stems from my own feelings of enjoyment of the outdoors when I was a child and my experience with children expressing joyfulness as they experience nature in its purest form.
