I am a lifelong resident of Campbell County, KY. I signed up with Sittercity because holding and rocking an infant while listening to their sweet coos and babbles has got to be one of life’s greatest joys! I also get a kick out of toddlers, you never know what they are going to say or do…there is no need for external entertainment (i.e. TV) because they bring the entertainment to you live! School age kiddos are a blast…it’s always fun to hear about their school day, friends, hobbies or favorite activities. Over the years I have played every kind of “ball” known to man, participated in the completion of an untold number of craft projects, watched endless hours of Disney /Pixar movies, been the “customer” of some questionable beauticians, nail technicians & make up artists (6-8 year olds come up with wild hairstyles & vivid makeup choices), and changed enough Read more diapers that I should buy stock in Pampers! Quite simply, I just like kids! In terms of experience, my first job was babysitting during the summer & in the evenings. I worked at a daycare center during college & spent a summer as a nanny for 3 kiddos ages 2, 4 & 5. I am a Registered Nurse and worked at a No. KY hospital system as an RN from 1997-2004 in both the pediatric and emergency room. I was the step-mother of kiddos ages 1, 3, 6 & 8 when I met my ex-husband. I have been a foster parent & a legal guardian of a 17 year old cousin. I jokingly say I have had a hand in raising a number of kids, but have given birth to none! I’m probably not the “typical” babysitter, as I’m employed full-time at a health insurance company during the day. While financially secure, the saying about do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life comes to mind as I could combine my love of kids with an opportunity to make some extra money on the occasional evening or weekend. I am a responsible, law-abiding citizen & have had several formal background checks as a foster parent, as the treasurer for the local high school athletic booster club, for my work, etc. I am a safe driver with reliable transportation. I own my own home where I have lived for the past 21 years. In my spare time, I love to travel, read, watch my nieces sporting events and spend time with my husband, family, friends and my adorable pup, Koa.
