Hello and welcome to my profile! I am available for babysitting in the San Francisco area. I have over 10 years experience watching children, having grown up the second oldest of 6 children. I would describe my approach to child-care as developmentally minded, patient, and empathetic. As someone who is naturally intuitive with an accompanying background in child development, this allows me to recognize the needs of the child in conjunction with age-appropriate developmental milestones. I have enjoyed childcare because the connection I build with the children provides the parents a sense of peace while they are away. Children have taught me so many things, but the most valuable lesson is to always bring a child-like sense of wonder in all that you do. Additionally, I was a research assistant at the UC Davis Center for Mind and Brain studying healthy emotions and relationship development in children. In conjunction with my technical experience, I spent a year as a full-time nanny to a family in Manhattan, NY. I have babysat for several families, have experience working with foster children, special needs youth, and emotionally disturbed youth. I am also the second oldest of six children, making me well versed in children ages 0-18. I am flexible in my schedule, have a valid driver's license and passport, and am CPR and AED certified.
