[Updated as of March 29, 2025] Hello! I’m Abbey and I live in Bushwick. I have 5+ years of childcare experience, both in classrooms and as a private babysitter/nanny. I hold a Master’s in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor’s in psychology with focus on child development. I currently work part-time with multiple families both with childcare and housekeeping tasks. The kids who are regularly in my care are between the ages of 7-12 months. Current work -Saturday night sitter for 12 month old (since June 2024) -Sitter/housekeeper for family with 11 month old (since December 2024) -Sitter for family with 7 month old (Since January 2025) Past work -Part-time nanny (3 days/week) for a little boy, 9mo - 2yo -Babysitter for 6 and 7 year old siblings, 3 afternoons/evenings a week for 9 months -2 years as a preschool assistant teacher for children between the ages of 18 Read more months to 5 years -Teacher's assistant at undergrad's on-campus daycare for two semesters, one with 2 year olds and the other with 4 year olds I can provide references upon request. Your child’s well-being and safety are my highest priorities when they are in my care and having fun is just as important. During my time as a preschool teacher, I took numerous professional development classes in childhood education. I was also trained in CPR, SIDS, Shaken Baby Syndrome, and safe sleep practices. I enjoy providing enriching activities such as going for walks, making art, reading books, playing with toys, and so much more. I am more than willing to take on some household tasks related to the child such as prepping snacks/meals, tidying up, laundry, etc. if desired! Just let me know what you need and I’ll help out.
