Throughout my experience working in childcare and education, I have worked with children ranging in age from 11 weeks to 18 years. I have two master's degrees, one in education and one in counseling. I have nannied for a family with two children, ages 6 and 9 when I started and 12 and 15 when I left. I loved helping with homework, picking them up from school and hearing about their days, and taking them to all of their activities. Being with the family for six years allowed me to create a special bond with them and watch them grow into an amazing pre-teen and teen. While nannying, I worked with a child who was 2 months old when I started and just shy of 2 years old when I left. I was with him through his first words, teething, his first steps, and the diagnosis and beginning stages of Read more treatment for Cerebral Palsy. I love working with children from birth to 3 because they change and grow so quickly, and it is exciting to watch them learn! As a date night babysitter for over 15 years, I have worked with children ranging in age from 4 months to 15 years. Although I wasn't part of those families long-term, I loved working with a wide range of ages and getting to play and engage with so many different children! I have worked as an elementary school music teacher and a middle and high school drama teacher at an inclusion school in Manhattan. I worked with students in grades K-12, about two thirds of whom qualified for special education services. I had the opportunity to work with students with a wide range of ability levels and diagnoses, and it was wonderful to watch them grow throughout the years. I am currently a licensed therapist, working with adolescents and adults. During my master's program in counseling, I worked with preschool aged children with behavioral concerns and provided one-on-one behavioral and social-emotional learning interventions. I love working with children of all ages, and I know the importance of balancing structure and boundaries with warmth, nurturing, and fun. I hope to be able to provide care to your little ones, whether it's a long-term relationship or just for one night.

Alyssa was super with my girls. My girls raved about her the next morning and asked when she was coming back.

Alyssa was great - our 2 year old can be shy but she got him laughing shortly after she sat down with him. She kept us updated during our time out as well. We would definitely have her come back.

Alyssa was amazing! She watched our 13-month-old son while we attended an evening wedding. She was patient as he was crying hard when we left; she read books to him to calm him. He was calm within minutes and slept well when she put him to bed. And she was quickly responsive and flexible when we asked to add an hour so we could enjoy festivities a little longer. Thanks, Alyssa!

Alyssa was great. She responded very quickly to all my emails. She was patient with me as I was leaving my kids with a babysitter for the first time. She was attentive to my 3 year olds need for lots of attention. And she was patient with my 1 year old when he was unhappy that his mom wasn't there for his bedtime. I would love to have her babysit again.
