Where to begin... My love for children and first "babysitting" job started way back when I was only 11yrs old caring for a neighbor's 4-month-old all by myself! (Times sure were different, yes?) By the time I graduated HS, I was babysitting EVERYONE in the neighborhood and continued to do so for neighbors and family way beyond my college years! I spent 13yrs as an Art teacher and private (non-Art) tutor for children aged 3-14 in a fast paced environment, I’ve been an Aide in PreK3-1st grade, and I have nannied for 2 families. From many years in the Education field, as well as my babysitting/nannying experience, I'd say that I've developed quite a few skills when it comes to understanding the needs of a child, as well as the patience and kindness required to help them learn and grow in a safe Read more environment. I hold a B.F.A. and I am educated in basic first aid including Epi-Pens, CPR, and AED machines. I am currently available for Mon.-Fri. childcare and would prefer a FT position. I am a bit of a nervous driver and am NOT comfortable taxiing children to activities or to/from school. I'd be best suited working with infants or younger children, I would prefer to devote my time to one child, and can even offer Pre-K-Kdg preparation. I'd love to work for a family that is open to allowing playtime outside in the yard as well as walks (in a stroller if needed) around the neighborhood and/or to a local park. I am a big fan of fresh air and adventures! When caring for/working with children, I love nature, arts and crafts, reading, music, and anything creative that is fun and allows a child to “think outside the box”. Meal prep is not a problem and I am open to helping with light laundry if needed as well. As for me personally, I have been with my husband 12 yrs (10 married). I enjoy having adventures and traveling when I can, photography, a variety of Art, reading, music, Paleo-digs, hiking, camping, animals, sci-fi/comic book related activities, and occasionally playing video games with my husband. I am very family oriented and am close with my parents and siblings, as well as the rest of the extended family. If you’d like to know anything else, don’t hesitate to ask!
