Greetings, I am Sydney Broom. I’m a Black and Native American young woman who is passionate about helping and supporting youth. I truly love being around children, their curiosity, energy, and creativity inspire me! I aspire to be a positive and helpful aid in their lives, and I especially enjoy encouraging and mentoring them as they grow. Right now, I serve as a mentor for middle school students through an after-school program, which has taught me a lot about patience, organization, and how to guide children in a supportive and caring way. While I haven’t formally worked as a sitter outside my family, I have six months of experience supervising children through after-school programs and caring for younger relatives. I would describe myself as reserved and gentle, and I am actively working on strengthening my communication skills so I can connect even better with both children and parents.
