Hi! I’m Sophie, an undergraduate nursing student at the University of Michigan with 3 years of professional childcare experience and a lifetime of experience caring for individuals with special needs. My sister has significant disabilities, so caregiving has always been a meaningful part of my life and has shaped who I am. During the summer, I work part-time at a childcare center where I’ve been employed since 2023. Through my role, I care for children ranging from 2 months to 10 years old, giving me experience with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged kids. As a nursing student, I maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications and complete annual training and health requirements for clinicals, including drug screenings and TB testing. I have also completed infant safe sleep training and child health and safety education.
