Dear Family: Hello! I'm a Country Gal, born and raised, originally hailing from the Pacific Northwest. I grew up in the Oregon Willamette Valley, and have a strong appreciation for the great outdoors. I started working with children 23 years ago-- first as a Teacher in English, then an Assistant Teacher to preschool ages, and then working hands-on with individual families in the role of a Nanny/Child-care Provider. I have always loved children (my own is now grown, and we are close), and as a Parent myself, I understand the concerns and challenges that parents face. I also understand that each child is unique-- in temperament, giftings, and natural inclinations. As a professional Nanny, I seek to provide excellent support to parents in childcare & child-rearing, and by being an empathetic listener to parental concerns & assisting with problem-solving and goals. From reading books, hands-on learning, cognitive play, and arts & crafts; to (age-appropriate) planned outings, day-trips, and time spent in the great outdoors. At home while children are either napping or in school, I assist parents with the management of household functions & organization--my philosophy is that Parents should never have to leave one job to come home to another.
