Hi, My name is Alexandra Sweeney I am 22 years old and looking to be a nanny, tutor, or babysitter! I recently graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Education, a concentration in Special Education, and a minor in Disability Studies. I have always been very driven and hope to work as a nanny until the job market for teachers on Long Island improves. I’m certified in CPR/First Aid, seizure recognition. As an educator, I hold dual certification in New York State for Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (K-6). Additionally, I am certified in the State of Delaware for both certifications, as well as an extension of special education for PK-12. I am awaiting my score and hope by the end of August to have achieved my Early Childhood Education Certification (Birth to Grade 2). Lastly, I have fingerprinting and background checks cleared in Read more New York and Delaware. Growing up with parents in helping professions—my mother a registered nurse coordinator for prenatal cardiology at Cohen’s Children’s Hospital, and my father a retired NYPD lieutenant detective who now leads security for Rudin Management—I was raised with a deep respect for responsibility, compassion, and care. Their dedication inspired my passion for working with children and supporting families, which has guided my experience as a nanny. When working with your children, my priority is their safety and well-being, both physically, socially, and emotionally. My experiences include teaching in both general and special education classrooms, working with children ages 3–12, and designing interactive, play-based learning activities. I’m also familiar with ABA strategies and social-emotional development techniques that help every child feel seen, safe, and successful. Beyond the classroom, I have years of hands-on childcare experience, including nannying, summer camp leadership, and running STEAM workshops for K-8 students. I take pride in being creative, reliable, and nurturing—whether I’m helping with homework, planning fun outings, or managing routines and transitions throughout the day. My greatest strength is my energy; I am very active and grew up playing multiple sports. Spending the day playing outside with the children would be the highlight of the job. I love being creative, and spend my available time working on my hobbies such as scrapbooking, using my Cricut, or painting.
