I am a mom of two boys, (4 & NB). My 4 yr old is in school and my NB would be with me on the job. I love playing with them and reading books. We go to the library and the Zoo, (we have a membership there) and enjoy being outside. I also have worked as what I call, a grief nanny. This means that my work history has given me the unique experience of walking with a family through the illness and death of a central family member/primary caregiver. This has taught me invaluable lessons about listening, empathy, and how to navigate grieving with multiple groups of people connected to the families I serve. My main focus is to provide excellent, trauma-informed care for the family, while helping the children to voice their needs/emotions, and advocate for them and what is in their best interests during and after Read more the first waves of grief. I can stay with families for just the time it takes to walk through the wake and funeral, a short time until their “new normal” is established, or I can stay for a longer term placement.
