Hi! My name is LaShawn Young, and I’m a warm, dependable, and energetic caregiver who truly enjoys working with children. I recently earned my bachelor’s degree in sociology and plan to continue my education by pursuing a graduate degree in business with a focus on nonprofit work. I’m passionate about making a positive impact, especially in the lives of young people. I come from a big family and am the youngest of four sisters, so I’ve always been surrounded by different personalities, energy levels, and plenty of opportunities to learn how to care for others with patience and love. I also help my mom with her business, Semaj’s Delights, which has taught me the value of responsibility, creativity, and hard work. Outside of caregiving, I have a deep love for dance and painting—two creative outlets I often use when spending time with kids.
