Hello, my name is Geraldine, (Geri) I started my career with the Department of Early Education in 1990. I have taught in Charlestown as a Teacher for 9 toddlers. In my second year, I transferred to a classroom of 9 infants. I also worked at the Jewish Community Center in Marblehead. I taught 25 four-year-old's in one classroom. The following year I taught 9 three-year-old's in my classroom. My parents were always thrilled to see their children( engaging in fun and appropriate activities. Working in the private sector I worked as a nanny and I attended Salem University to study Social Work and a Minor in Literature I cared for two toddlers who had developmental delays in learning. They had sensory difficulties with motor skills, walking and touch are very sensitive, for these little guys. They had occupational therapy. water therapy. I use the Montessori approach to help children learn through storytelling. I utilize books to create imagination for children. Then I make up a curriculum of different activities using books to create a room of wonderful decorations in the classroom or the private sector. My husband and I are taking our vacation in November for two weeks. Presently I have worked for the Lacy family for the past 6 years. The Lacy family was so wonderful, thoughtful, and kind. I love teaching children new and exciting activities it warms my heart to see children laughing and learning and having Fun!! I've enjoyed caring for Gary's six-year-old son Johnathan since birth.
