I am a retired healthcare professional who grew up as the oldest daughter in a family of 7 children, 5 of them boys. Early memories include helping my mother take care of my siblings, both older and younger. I cooked, cleaned, changed diapers, did laundry, ironed, organized activities to keep siblings occupied during summer break, taught little boys how to walk and how to ride bicycles. I also did babysitting for a former grade school teacher and for neighbors. I worked my way through college and grad school. Eventually I became a mother to a son, who is the most important person in my life. My husband opted out of the family unit after my son was born, and I became both mom and dad to a very young child. Childcare was a continual worry and challenge given my job requirements and with no family in geographical proximity. Fast forward Read more many years: my child is a successful man who won numerous awards as a child and teen and attended an Ivy League school. I am so proud of him. I would love to offer families my services as a part time sitter. I’m open to filling in here or there, weekdays, weekends, evenings, and staying over if parents need to be out of town. I’m not particularly fond of dogs, but can accommodate a low key and friendly canine. I am a kind person who loves children. I would be a grandmother to yours! I will be permanently relocating to the Princeton, NJ area in early 2023. Currently I’m occasionally in residence there.
