I have honed my communication and motivational skills by tutoring students over the years but also through babysitting (5 years) and working as a preschool teacher in Austin. I am very patient with children and love helping them learn while also having fun. Safety is my utmost concern and I carefully monitor children when I take them on outings to the park or to museums. No offense to the other nannies on here, but Aileen is on a different level! We were lucky enough to hire Aileen part time for our 9 month old baby. Her experience as a teacher and sleep trainer were incredibly valuable. She taught our son how to crawl in 10 days, and helped us make a routine so that he started sleeping 6-8 hour stretches. She helped train us (parents) how to set Dono up for success at pre-school. She is smart, professional, and has a lovely personality. Her schedule books up in advance, so if you have the opportunity to book her for your child - do it!

I did not actually get to have Aileen look after our kids, but I am basing my rating and this review on my interactions with her over sittercity during and leading up to an interview. We ended up hiring another nanny who has very specialized experience (we're a family with special and medically complex needs), but had it not been for that, we certainly would have hired Aileen, who was poised, professional, articulate, and more than qualified to look after our two little boys.
