I have a passion for childcare, and aim to give children a safe and secure environment to grow and develop. I have experience with children of many different ages and needs from free and paid childcare. I have provided care for children aged 0-15 years old, and have had lots of fun doing it! My experience caring for children with special needs (such as Autism, Sensory Processing disorders, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and more) gives me the ability to support children of many different backgrounds. I absolutely love being able to share my love for literature with children! When I’m not doing childcare I am working part time at a library. I also have a love of all things music and enjoy being able to share that with frequent dance parties! I believe that children need and deserve safe and fun outlets to help them explore. I like to give children Read more the opportunity to explore new experiences through crafts, boardgames, puzzles, and outdoor games. I enjoy play-doh, imaginative play, dress up, dolls, painting, tag, I-spy, and hide-n-seek. I’m always looking for something new for us to do! One of my favorite things to do with children is to talk about the world around them! (How do crops grow, How are clothes made, etc) I like to be able to take my charges on adventures, trips to the park, library, play groups and more can make each day feel unique! I also place a certain level of importance on having a child led schedule to make sure that our days run smoothly. I believe that open and honest communication is the backbone of trust. I aim to foster trust with parents by frequently communicating on their child's day, and addressing any concerns that arise through the parent’s preferred communication method. I make sure to note any new behaviors, and to loop parents in on new milestones and accomplishments! Though I am in my final year of high school, I have a highly flexible schedule that allows me to work during the day. My experience allows me to feel comfortable caring for up to three children, while gently enforcing household rules and doing light housework. I am happy to help keep the house picked up, do dishes, laundry, light meal prep, and errands. I have a very reliable and well maintained car, which makes transportation no issue.
