I spent the past year as a Montessori Preschool teacher in Asheville. In high school I spent summers volunteering as a camp counselor with Camp Opportunity in Santa Cruz, Ca (where I grew up). After high school I took a gap year to travel, which included three months of au pairing for families in Spain. Then I went to college for environmental social studies in Oregon and California. Along the way doing a range of childcare from nannying to working in a nursery and taking doula courses. In 2019 I moved to North Carolina and got my real estate license. I’ve spent time doing work exchanges on farms while traveling both in the US and Europe. I’ve often gone back to providing support to parents both on the farms as part of work exchange doing childcare. More than any other strategy and philosophy, I’ve been the support person to parents Read more who prefer progressive methods similar to that of the Montessori or Waldorf models. It matches my personal outlook as well. In my free time I’ve been practicing yoga for over a decade and enjoy a variety of other physical hobbies both indoors and outdoors. I’m passionate about the rights, freedom, and comfort of all living beings. Baking, art, herbalism, astrology, and movies are among my other interests and hobbies. I do my best to understand each child individually to help meet them where they are and progress their learning while they still feel heard and respected. I’m excited to see them grow as people in their life skills.
