Hi! My name is Kiera and I am a first year university student in Pittsburgh. I have been babysitting for more than five years, and I also offer house/pet sitting, as well as household services. People who know me would describe me as bubbly, organized, and attentive. I have the most amount of experience with children 2+, but I’m happy to babysit all ages. Some of my favorite activities include crafts, visiting new parks, playing board games, and baking. I am confident in tutoring or helping with homework in science, math, Spanish, and English. I also have my CPR/First Aid certification.

As parents who have had great and no-so-great experiences on Sittercity, this was unfortunately the worst experience we've had. We never had anyone raise their voice to our toddler until this situation. We hired Kiera for childcare support for the Summer, and it quickly became clear that she was not a good fit for our family. She often seemed impatient, easily frustrated, and her tone with our toddler frequently came across as aggressive rather than warm or comforting. She raised her voice more than once- to the point of borderline yelling- which is not acceptable behavior for a caregiver to have toward any child, young or older. This made us very uncomfortable. Our son is a very happy, giggly toddler but like most toddlers, he needs calm, patient, caring interaction- and as adults, we are responsible for modeling that behavior and creating a steady, safe environment. The way she spoke to and interacted with him did not reflect that. Because of this and other reasons, we would not recommend her for families with toddlers or young children.

Kiera was great with our two boys (ages 2 and 3.5). She arrived right on time and immediately started chatting with the kids- they often take a while to warm up to new people, but they took to Kiera right away and couldn’t wait to show her all of their toys. She got them through their whole bedtime routine right on schedule, and even went above and beyond and helped pick up toys.
