I have been working as a babysitter since I was old enough to do it. At age 13 I took a babysitter certification course that covered CPR for infants and children, changing diapers, and heating formula, among many other things. I then went on 3 years later to get my lifeguarding certification. I took a gap year after high school the first half of which I worked as a full-time nanny (two kids, ages 8 and 10) in NYC, and the second half as a preschool teacher in the infant-toddler room (ages 0-6). I made many connections in the preschool classroom with both students and parents; I continued babysitting for many of the families during my breaks from college. I attended McGill University in Montreal, QC where I took 1 year of early childhood education courses before switching my major to psychology with a double minor in behavioral science and Read more anthropology. While at school I worked as a special needs tutor for a non-verbal high-needs boy (age 8). Canada shut its borders in response to COVID so McGill switched to online classes for 1 year. During this time at home, I worked as a nanny for two girls (ages 7 and 9) and helped them attend online classes 2.5 days a week. I also created and ran a socially distanced soccer camp for 3 boys (one age 8, and two age 10) who I had previously babysat for. I have lots more experience not explicitly mentioned here with kids ages 0-18. After graduating I worked as a mentor at a therapeutic boarding school (ages 12-18) for 2 years. I was once again trained in CPR as well as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). I love art, sports, music, and animals of all shapes and sizes!
