I have been working as a nanny for the past 10+ years. Boy, it has been quite a ride! I'm native from Brazil but I moved to the US back in 1999 to go to college and almost immediately started working as a babysitter on a part-time basis and then moving on to full time positions. I've always loved children and it just came naturally to me that that's what I'd be doing. All the families that I have worked for have a special place in my heart. I remember all of their names because they were all unique and special in their own way. They all left a mark. I worked for a family in 2002 and there were 2 children, one of them a special needs little boy. He had Down Syndrome and though it had its challenges it was ultimately a rewarding and joyful experience for me. Read more Throughout the years I have been working mostly with newborns, toddlers and Preschoolers but I'm comfortable with kids of any age. I guess children are naturally drawn to me because the minute I look at them I have a smile on my face. I'm very communicative, open, friendly. I am extremely reliable and responsible. When it comes to children, I take care of them as if they were my own, pouring all my love but also being firm when needed. I believe in providing a safe, loving environment where the child will always feel loved and secure and I strongly believe in instilling in them from a young age a healthy self-esteem. Helping them develop their skills, grow in them and accomplish them is such a joy! Being a nanny, in my opinion, is one of the most important jobs somebody can have and as such I intend to perform my duty with the utmost love and care.
