Hi! My name is Nydia and I'm an active, hard-working and fun-loving 20-year-old with 4 years of paid childcare experience. My top strengths are my patience, compassion, and determination to overcome any challenge that comes my way. My biggest passion is nurturing the well-being of children! I have a plethora of experience working with children of all ages, both in church and in secular environments. This experience includes teaching; tutoring; babysitting; leading children's worship; directing children's church services; facilitating group sports, art and crafts, and music activities; and so much more!. My passion for childcare has taken me from teaching at-risk high school students socio-emotional skills through theatre, to leading rambunctious 1st graders 11+ hrs a day for summer day camp, to writing and performing Bible lessons for 3-6 yr-olds in Sunday School, to facilitating 1st-4th graders at an educational and recreational afterschool program, to nurturing 15-23 month-old babies at Read more a Christian Nursery, to tutoring immigrant/refugee grade school students. No matter what position I was in, I was constantly tending to the child's needs, mindful of their behavior, and making sure that they were happy but always safe. When an argument arose among my kids, I always handled it quickly and effectively, helping them to understand what they had done wrong and then apologize. I never lost my composure with the children, and always spoke to them kindly, but with discipline when it was appropriately needed. More specifically, my babysitting experience includes cooking, playing games, helping with homework, facilitating play dates, taking trips to the park, and pretty much anything to keep our time together fun and exciting, yet safe and structured.
