Hi! My name is Karis, and I love working with kids. I grew up in a church and family where I was always around children and watching them from a very young age. I have worked with all ages (newborn to 18) the past 3 years at the Boys and Girls club (where I was also a lifeguard), before care at an elementary school, and as a childcare worker at the YMCA. I am also studying to become an elementary school teacher and am in my third year of school. I’m very passionate about children, and have learned so much about their development and behavior management through school as well as hands-on experience. I have worked with many different special needs children over the years as well and love figuring out what makes each child tick. I believe in getting on children’s level to make them feel respected and seen, Read more while also maintaining a healthy and safe boundary to keep behaviors in check. I am also a great cleaner, love to cook, and am happy to drive. I love being around children because they remind me of the goodness in the world, never fail to make me laugh, and help me to become a more caring and patient person.
