Hello! My name is Henry, I have been working in professional childcare for about 4 years now, though my love and passion for working with kids spans back much further. I grew up in a rather large family, and despite being the youngest sibling I was amongst the eldest of the grandchildren and cousins. I was engaging with my younger relatives at a very young age myself, wanting to cuddle babies and play with the toddlers. By age 12 I began babysitting my three younger cousins, and as I grew older more relatives and family friends entrusted me to watch their children. My family had even coined me the 'Baby Whisperer' because chances are if you put a baby in my arms, they will fall asleep. At age 17 I biked to a nearby daycare in my hometown where I applied for and received my first professional childcare job. I Read more was very successful in my various positions during my year of working there, upon which I left my hometown and state to move here to Lincoln, NE. I arrived here in 2021 and immediately received a position at another childcare center. I was once again very successful in my various positions throughout my year and five months with my second center. This year I decided to leave the childcare center profession for the time being to focus on my education. I have had the privilege of extensive training thanks to my time with daycare centers and would like to extend that knowledge and gain a degree in early childhood education. During this journey, I would still love to have the opportunity to utilize my skills, continue providing a positive role model in children's lives, and make some extra money to support my education journey.
