Hi my name is Holly Penland I have been a nanny for several years all around the Bay Area I am offering a child based Reggio Emilia based opportunity for one or more families. What is Reggio Emilia you may be asking yourself. It’s a philosophy where the child learns through their own exploration, that they learn through touch, movement, listening, and observation. The child must have an endless ways and opportunity to express themselves. Pretty much the child is the driver of there learning. I have 15 years of experience ranging from newborn to school aged children. Along with a background in Montessori and play based in home care. I am musically inclined and a committed educator, I have a clean driving record and I’m CPR and first aid certified. Our day together: Daily enrichment opportunities for socializing at the local libraries. Art lessons at community centers. Organic home Read more cooked meals. Walks in parks, and an array of other activities in the area that help to enrich the child’s mind. I place a high emphasis on recognize art as one of the many languages the children use. I send pictures and messages documenting the child’s milestones. I value teaching self sufficiency, fine motor skills, kinesthetics, along with literacy through daily story time. As for discipline I believe in a very proactive positive reinforcement approach, one in which exemplary behavior and kindness towards our friends is modeled and praised. I enjoy being out and about most of the day excluding lunch and naps. I have a open schedule and flexible hours to fit your needs.
