Why do you love being a sitter? I absolutely love working with kids because they bring me so much joy! I love getting to know each child’s personality, creating fun and creative activities, making them laugh, and being someone they feel safe and comfortable with. I love knowing that I can make a positive impact on a child’s life, and be their light. I’m energetic, patient, caring, creative, and responsible. I’m studying Human Development and Family Studies at Iowa State because I hope to become a pediatric occupational therapist, working with kids is truly something I’m passionate about! * What experience do you have? I have 8 years of babysitting experience from all ages and 4 years of nannying experience with 4 siblings and a dog. I also worked as a preschool teacher, where I cared for young children, supported their development, planned activities, and created a safe and nurturing Read more environment. For the past 3 years, I have worked at the YMCA in after-school care and summer camp, including serving as a lead summer camp counselor. I supervised big groups of children, planned activities, helped with daily routines, and created a fun, positive environment. I also have experience preparing meals, giving rides, cleaning, caring for pets, and managing multiple children at once. * What skills and training do you have? I’m a sophomore at Iowa State studying Human Development and Family Studies with the goal of becoming a pediatric OT. I have CPR and First Aid training, have completed several childcare trainings, and have been background-checked through my YMCA experience. I’m comfortable caring for children of different ages and personalities, planning activities, preparing food, helping with routines, driving children when needed, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. I’m very flexible and would love to help babysit!
