Hi! I’m Raquel, 32, and I’ve been a caregiver for 14 years. Why do I love being a sitter? I began babysitting at 18 to help pay for college, and while I’ve explored other career paths over the years, nothing has been as fulfilling as caring for children and supporting families. I truly love building relationships with both parents and little ones, and being a calming, reliable presence during such an important stage of life. What experience do I have? I hold a psychology degree from Hunter College and have worked with several families over the years, including three long-term positions lasting 6+ years, as well as multiple short-term roles. I’ve cared for children of all ages, but my passion is working with infants and supporting families through the newborn and early baby stages. I’m currently working with a 5-month-old three days a week and helping guide her sleep training, Read more and I’m looking to add more hours to fill in the gaps. What skills and training do I have? I’m hands-on, nurturing, and organized, and I’m happy to help beyond childcare with household laundry, organizing, light housekeeping, cooking, errands, and pet care. I’m currently completing my Newborn Care Certification and spend my free time learning about healthy sleep habits. My CPR certification was renewed in June 2025. I’m comfortable working both on the books (payroll) and off the books, and I’m happy to provide a background check, resume, and references. On a personal note, I moved from NYC to Rockland 8 months ago to live with my fiancé, and I’ve been loving suburban life!
