Hello potential host family, I’m a college student who is studying elementary (primary school) education and am looking to do some extra babysitting before leaving to be an au pair abroad in Spain a few weeks (essentially a nanny)! I love children and it is my goal in life to be a positive force in their lives. The way I go about any sort of day is to be a positive force in anyone’s life honestly. I’ve taken courses in child development and education, and also have a great deal of empathy and patience for any kind of child. I approach any situation from where that person/kid is coming from and without judgment. I have experience looking after my young cousins, observing classrooms of all grades in my education classes, and have supervised and mentored adolescents at work (team trainer) and school (directing in theatre). And of course, being a Read more big sister. There were many nights spent listening to my little sister tell stories with her stuffed animals that I loved and nodded along to despite not understanding, or times I’d help my brother with homework after school. I am reliable, responsible, and also able to make things fun. I grew up with a stay at home mom who knew how to keep me and my siblings entertained without going wild (crafts, reading, going to the park or library, etc.), so I’ve learned a bit from her. I can take care of any chores as well, I tend to be tidy regardless. Animals are also very welcome, my family has two dogs and I grew up with cats. When I have free time at home I mostly love to read, as is my lifelong love, and I also play guitar/ ukulele/ clarinet, sing, write, crochet, and spend time outside. I’m hardworking, caring, and would find this to be an great experience!
