Why do you love being a sitter? I love being a sitter because it allows me to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. I enjoy supporting their growth, building confidence, and encouraging creativity through play and learning. It is rewarding to watch children develop new skills, explore their interests, and have fun while knowing that I am helping parents feel confident in their child’s care. What experience do you have? I have over seven years of experience caring for children of all ages, from newborns to middle school students. I have provided babysitting services in private homes, managing routines such as meals, naps, playtime, homework, and outdoor activities. I have also worked as a middle school tutor and mentor with the UMB CURE Scholars Program, assisting with homework, academic projects, and study skills while leading activities that encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence. Additionally, I served as a Read more mentor and tutor for elementary-aged students through the Refugee Youth Project, supporting learning and social development while supervising group activities. I have experience assisting in pre-K and kindergarten classrooms as a Bible study assistant teacher, engaging children in crafts, games, and group discussions. These experiences have allowed me to develop skills in managing multiple responsibilities, creating structured and fun activities, and adapting to the needs of different age groups. What skills and training do you have? I am CPR certified, which ensures I can respond effectively and calmly in emergencies while maintaining a safe environment for children. I am skilled in supervising children, planning age-appropriate activities, supporting homework and learning, and fostering creativity and social-emotional development. My dental assistant training has also strengthened my organization, attention to detail, and understanding of hygiene and safety, which translates well to childcare. I am experienced in clear communication with parents, collaborating with other caregivers, and maintaining routines that support both safety and engagement.
