Hi there! My name is Jessica and I am a mom to an 8-year-old and former elementary school teacher. After getting laid off in 2025 due to budget cuts, I decided to switch paths and support families in other ways. Some of those ways include being a house manager, doing house cleaning/organization, tutoring, homeschool support, and childcare. I have taught both 1st and 3rd grade for the Reynolds School District and taught 3rd/4th grade summer school in Beaverton School District. Most of my teacher preparation program, including my year of student teaching 3rd grade, was completed in BSD so I am highly familiar with their curriculum. I have also spent many hours volunteering in Hillsboro School District, Portland Public, Centennial, and Tigard-Tualatin. I was the lead 3's and 4's teacher in a preschool for a couple of years in college. I have tutored children from age 4 through 15 in Read more all gen-ed subjects. My most recent group of 1st graders had the most reading growth in the entire school! I have been caring for children since I was 14 when I would watch my siblings and other local neighborhood kids while their parents were working during summer breaks and after school. My experience working with children, in all capacities, is extensive. I adore working with children, nurturing their innate curiosity, and helping them build confidence in exploring the world around them. I enjoy helping them grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. I love nature and learning myself, so engaging children in interacting with those things comes naturally to me. As far as my personal hobbies, I love hiking, road trips, going to fun places like OMSI or the art museum, spending time with my family and friends (and dog, Bingo), biking, and strength training.
