Hello! I am Lauren- I'm currently a school counselor at an elementary school in Plainfield, IL during the school year. When I'm not school counseling, I spend my time babysitting and dog sitting. I am deeply passionate about taking care of children and animals. I am first aid and CPR-certified, have plenty of childcare experience, and I helped raise my younger 4 siblings. I have my own car and am extremely reliable. I am outgoing, friendly, energetic, and creative! While I appreciate screen time (especially educational), I have a lot of experience teaching craft exercises and social emotional lessons to kiddos. I also love outside time! Lauren came over to watch our 20 month old on short notice so we could get some work done in the yard, and she was such a lifesaver! We have never had a babysitter our son wasn’t already familiar with, so we were nervous about how he would handle it. He was comfortable with her pretty quickly! It was more challenging for her because we were still outside, and out son knew we were there. He’s incredibly opinionated and determined, but she was able to handle/redirect him away from us without him throwing a toddler fit. By the end of the afternoon, he kind of panicked a little bit when she left, but then stood in the driveway waving and saying “bye Lauren!!” with a big smile on his face. I think he had a lot of fun playing with her!
