Hi! I’m Ariel, a UC Santa Cruz graduate with degrees in Psychology and Legal Studies. I’m beginning to offer private babysitting in San Jose and Santa Cruz, bringing experience in youth advocacy, family support and child development coursework. I care about helping children feel heard and supported while giving parents someone dependable to turn to. I volunteer with CASA of Santa Cruz County, providing advocacy and mentorship for foster youth and coordinating with caregivers, schools and service providers. Previously, I worked in resident services with Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation, supporting families with children and connecting them with educational and community resources. During my legal internship with Advocates for Justice in Education in Washington, DC, I supported attorneys and families navigating special-education matters involving students with disabilities. My background also includes legal secretary work at Uriarte & Carr, an Academic Assistant role at UCSC’s Oakes College, and serving as co-chair of Read more UCSC’s Food Systems Working Group. I’m currently applying to law school and plan to pursue education law, particularly advocacy for children with disabilities and their access to educational services. I’ve taken child development classes and value patience, clear communication and following each family’s routines. I’m especially interested in school-age care, homework and reading support, creative activities and occasional date-night sitting. My availability is open, including weekdays, evenings and weekends. I have my own car and am comfortable helping with school pickups and working in homes with pets. For older students, I can also offer college application organization and essay feedback. I scored a 167 on the LSAT and can provide LSAT study support, including practice questions and study planning. Professional and volunteer references are available upon request. I’d love to learn about your family and see whether we’re a good fit!
