My name is Nevaeh Shepherd I’m 18 years old , I graduated a year early from high school this past May. For my last two years of high school, I was online/homeschooled. During that time at home, I babysat my mom’s friend’s son starting when he was about 5–6 months old. I absolutely loved babysitting him and watching him grow, try different foods, and reach new milestones. He’s about 2 years old now and walking, and it truly feels like such an accomplishment knowing I cared for him for so long and kept him safe as he grew right before my eyes. I am currently working with adults with intellectual disabilities, where I have learned so much about caring for others. This includes noticing changes in mood or behavior, keeping up with specific diets and meal plans, remembering meal and snack times, and managing medication and medication schedules. I have multiple younger cousins whom I care for from time to time—whether that’s taking them to get food, attending their school events, or picking them up from sports games. I’ve also been around almost every pet you can think of, so I’m very comfortable with dogs, cats, and other animals. Your child’s safety is always my top priority. I have reliable transportation and am a responsible, outgoing, caring, and loving person who puts my all into any job I take on.
