My combined childcare experience is more than 20 years. I worked for 11 years in preschools, 12 years as a Nanny and 3 years in the school system helping children with special needs. I find being a nanny enjoyable because I love the close bonds I form with the entire family, to know the unique family dynamic and to adapt to their parenting style to make things as supportive and consistent as possible for the littles. I enjoy teaching and encouraging little ones to reach developmental milestones. I can provide the valuable one-on-one attention that is so crucial and beneficial at a young age. Social skills are cultivated by planning outings, play dates and participating in group activities within the community. I am experienced in coaching children through the more difficult social dynamics and I enjoy watching them blossom and grow. I promote self help skills that lead to independence Read more and success upon starting school ie. toilet training, proper hand washing, learning to dress, bathe, etc. I focus on strengthening the fine motor skills to operate zippers, snaps, buttons, tie shoes and so on. A nanny position suits me best as I can easily adapt to new environments, I instill a routine to provide consistency and predictability to make the children feel safe and secure. I am active, happy, energetic and fun. I am gentle yet firm and desire to foster a love of learning that will last a lifetime. I am cognizant of emotional growth and cultivate coping skills; focusing on the whole child becoming their unique selves that transition well into their world. I relish cuddling up with a good book, playing pretend, doing arts-and-crafts, singing and playing guitar, as well as, remaining active outdoors like; biking, walking, playing, picnicking and swimming. I yearn to teach and explore according to the kids interests and to make learning fun and engaging. The world is our classroom. As a result, I have organized dance classes and music mixes where a small group of kids come together to explore various instruments or learn various dances. I have grown a veggie and flower garden and housed many insects since the children showed an interest. I adore being a support for the families as a whole.
